Concept 3 - Flavor of the Week

The 10 Essential Concepts Behind DeedGrabbing:

Concept 3

The "Flavor of the Week"...

If you're anything like me, you can't resist signing up for all sorts of different offers that you see on the internet to get free information. Heck, you probably did that to get on my email list.

I'm first and foremost a real estate investor - but I'm trying to learn this "website game" now. You know, offering information about real estate investing on the internet. So I think it's safe to say we're kind of in the same boat right now.

You're either exploring real estate in general, or you've decided that real estate is for you, but you are looking at all the different angles. Or, maybe you're an experienced investor who is looking for more profitable niches within real estate.

I'm trying to learn how to effectively market my website, so that I can get more material out to people who are interested in tax-delinquent real estate. All while debunking all the myths about get-rich-quick tax sale investing.

There are dozens of different ways to attack each business. If you're interested in real estate, you can do rehabbing, short sales, lease options, buy at a tax lien sale, buy foreclosures, or any number of different angles to get to that nice check.

If you're trying to succeed in getting the word out about your successful real estate investing techniques over the internet, there are also dozens of ways to accomplish that. Hundreds maybe 😉

Until recently, every time I heard of the internet marketing "flavor of the week", I couldn't resist signing up. As a result, my email box was always jammed with the next "greatest thing". And a few times in the past when I've felt "weak", I've gotten sidetracked and pursued these "flavors of the week". The ones that promise miraculous results with no effort. And nothing has ever come of them.

What has produced success in internet marketing? Sticking to the basics. Keeping my products updated. Giving more content to my subscribers. Passing on what I'm continuing to discover regularly.

Why am I telling you this? Because the real estate "flavors of the week" are just as common. Do you have several other real estate information marketers clogging up your email box daily with new "launches" and "blueprints" that will guarantee easy riches? Do you find yourself distracted by them when you're trying to accomplish something?

I finally unsubscribed from most email lists that would constantly throw something new at me every week, and stuck with a few that provided solid, consistent information and products. Sticking with people I could trust. For getting my materials out there, for example, I've allowed Perry Marshall to be one of the few who is "welcome in my inbox".

Sure, when you've settled on a "niche", it's great to get updates and discover new information within that niche. With changing times, it's essential as a matter of fact. It's a different story when you're thrown in a million different directions where you have to start over from scratch.

I realized that a few years ago, I finally stopped going after the real estate flavor of the week and decided on the niche that was by far the most effective - tax sales. Or, more specifically, dealing with owners of tax sale property.

Which leads me to the third DeedGrabbing Essential Concept:

"Concentrate on ONE group of property owners, and learn how to make profitable deals with them"

Notice it doesn't say which group. Some of you may be better suited to chasing short sale deals or rehabbing properties. When you decide that's the case, I encourage you to unsubscribe from my email list, and work on honing your chosen area with the best experts in that area only.

This is not to say that, regardless of which area you choose, you don't need to continue your education. You may still want to explore information on private money, negotiating skills, dealmaking, or selling strategies, no matter which group of owners you choose to pursue.

But, jumping from one strategy to another is sure to discourage you and burn you out.

I hope to show you that tax sale property owners are BY FAR the best to work with, in a variety of different ways. If and when I become another "flavor of the week" for you, do yourself a favor and stick with what you've decided on.

Thanks Perry...

It took over a year for Perry Marshall, my internet whiz, to convice me to sit down and UNSUBSCRIBE from 90% of the email lists I was on - real estate AND internet marketing related - there was just too much noise for me to concentrate and do anything!

I encourage you to do the same in your quest to profit from real estate...pick a niche, and stick with it. Unsubscribe from ME if I'm distracting you from something else you're doing that's working! Otherwise, get rid of the noise, concentrate on tax sale-related investing, and make a commitment!

Thanks Rick,

It's so Bizzare, I was just checking my email and feeling this overwhelming sense of Uggggg and couldn't for the life of me figure out why. Then I was reviewing some of my emails from weeks back and saw this one that I hadn't read before, and everything made sense, bells and whistles started a buzzing; And I realized in all of my attempts to educate myself in this business, I'm becoming inundated with too many different points of view and strategies. THANK YOU FOR THIS AHA MOMENT!

I was attracted to your site because of my interest in tax lien certificates. Deal grabbing, seems interesting, but you are correct - one has to - pick A strategy and stick with it. I feel I have to buy a tax lien certificate before deciding what is best for me.
